I wish I was better
Not just healthier but also more open
(Nicer to my Friends)
I wish I wasn't scared and
I wish I weren't slipping backwards but I am and I can see
Others going forward

I wish I was a child again because I remember being so happy
(I wish that I actually was)

I wish that we had stayed closer and that we talked more
(How is you family?
Flora must have started school now,
but I remember when she was very small)

I wish I still knew Lindsay and that she didn't move away
to Bristol
and that we were still learning to ride our bikes on the green

I found a toy dog that a friend gave me and I wish we were still young and I wish I still knew them like I did.
I wish that we could still play in your garden
with the sprinkler
I wish that now it could be the same

I have photos of the three of us wrapped in a mattress made of foam
but my mother took some of them

I wish my mummy was better and happier
and I wish I had more than memories

I wish I was better
Not just healthier but also more open
I wish I wasn't scared and
I wish I wasn't slipping backwards but I am and I can see
Others still going forward

I wish I wasn't crying

You said you hate my suffering
And you understood
And you’d take care of me
You'd always be there
Well where are you now?

STAY IN YOUR BOX! EAT YOUR FUDGE!
...but of course beauty is transient and one day you and I will both die... and there will be nought but dust!
Not today though, today's gonna be lovely!

Any random person could read this poem and appreciate it for its artistic value, but because I know who you are personally, it meant so, so much more. Great work.
